 The Story Behind the Work

Hola, I’m Astrid Ferguson (she/her/hers)—author, poet, workshop facilitator, and Certified Professional Coach. I’m the self-published author of Molt, The Serpent's Rattle, and the guided journal Redesigning, Realigning, Rediscovering Me.

My work lives at the intersection of joy, grief, identity, healing, and storytelling. Through writing, workshops, and honest conversations, I explore what it means to let go of survival mode and live for ourselves. That belief is at the heart of my course Choosing Joy After a Long Year of Grief, and it continues to guide my writing as I explore what it means to let go of who we’re not and return to our core selves.

Before fully stepping into creative work, I spent nearly fifteen years in Corporate Pharma while also working as a professional coach and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner. I write and speak about trauma, resilience, mental health, family dynamics, and finding joy even in life’s hardest seasons. Porque sometimes joy is both the struggle y la respuesta. Those experiences continue to shape how I facilitate conversations today with reflection, vulnerability, and intention. My workshops facilitate impact and the following are some ideas I am available for:

  • Writing workshops

  • Wellness & healing conversations

  • Grief and resilience workshops

  • Latina/Latinx identity discussions

  • Creative storytelling panels

  • Corporate wellness conversations

  • Emerging writer talks

  • Podcast interviews & speaking engagements

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me refereeing life with my two boys, discovering foundations of art with my artistic husband, Jerel Ferguson, or holding space for people to reconnect with their voices and stories.

Now that you’re here—hola, es un placer conocerte.

Let’s talk about truth, healing, storytelling, and becoming.
